In The Company of Kids Creative Arts Center
Music-We use age appropriate music in all of our classes. Some of the music we use are from Disney, Broadway Musicals, classical, special children's music and more.
Information-In the Company of Kids Creative Arts Center is located in the River Ridge Arts Building in Burnsville. We have a lovely lobby area complete with Wi-Fi, so you could bring a laptop if you would like. There are various artists, retail, and other businesses located in our building. We ask that all of our children attending classes remain on the main floor and are not allowed to go up or down the stairs so they do not disturb other tenants.
No food or drink is allowed in our Arts Center (except for special events), however, there is a nice lobby area with tables and chairs. You are welcome to bring a snack or lunch prior to class and eat it there. Our Arts Center is peanut free, however, we cannot guarantee the building facility is.
Directions-Hwy 35w South to Hwy 13 North, exit on 13 and merge into the left lane. Turn left at the first light which is Nicollet Avenue. Staying again in the left lane turn left at first light (River Ridge Circle) move to right lane as you will encounter a Y in the road. Turn right, the building will be right in front of you. Grand Slam is on your right and Skateville is directly in front of us.
We are located on the main floor. Please remove your shoes at the Arts Center door before entering. For your convenience there is a coatroom in the lobby area.
Clothing-children should be dressed in something comfortable to move in. Good choices are a leotard with tights or sweatpants and a T-shirt. Preferably not jeans as they can be restricting. All children will need a pair of jazz shoes with gripper bottoms to prevent them from slipping and sliding. We have them in stock at our Center at $28.00 a pair up to size 12 and $35.00 size 1 and up. You may purchase them elsewhere as well. Street shoes and boots are to removed by everyone outside our door.
Description-In our Acting Adventures class children will participate in a multitude of various activities. Acting, singing, dancing, tumbling, puppetry, improv, and more. We give all children the opportunity to discover the Arts and the creativity within. Our classes are great for building self esteem, confidence, social skills, communication, and problem solving. Children will receive a folder with a calendar of activities at their first class showing what they will be covering during this session. Homework may be sent home periodically to work on memorization of lines, or building a short story, or jokes. Children are also given the opportunities to perform in community events and the year end show. These are optional.
The Center is also available for "one-day workshops for homeschool cooperatives" (which can range in size from five families to 60 people or more).
